Skin boosters
Skin boosters is a popular treatment in Korea, but in the initial phase in the U.S. Some skin boosters are injected with a microneedle, or some are coupled with microneedling. Although there are various types, the main concept is the same by maximizing skin benefit by introducing various ingredients into the superficial layers of the skin, where it needs them the most.
Ingredients of Skin booster products include hyaluronic acid, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, growth factors, PDRN, and exosomes. In combination, such nutrients help to make skin feel fresh and rejuvenated.
Skin booster treatments have various skin benefits including boosting skin moisture content, improving skin texture and tone, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Depending on the product used, you can also notice improvement of scarring (such as from acne) or hyperpigmentation (as the overall skin tone can improve) and reduced appearance of pores.
At Mi by Lee, two mesotherapy products are used -- Rejuran and Benev Exosomes. Further details of each product can be found on the blog page. In general, Rejuran is recommended for skin that needs healing. It helps to improve overall skin health. Think of it as building a good foundation by improving the general skin condition. Benev Exosome is the newest skin booster that has significant amount of growth factors and help to improve skin tone, texture, and appearance of pores.

What should I expect the day of?
Expect to spend about 60 minutes for the entire session. A numbing (anesthetic) cream will be applied for 20 minutes prior to the injection and the injection itself takes about 20 minutes. The numbing cream helps, but you can still have mild discomfort during the session.
What about side effects?
You will have mild redness and tiny bumps (where the boosters were injected) on your face from the injection that will improve within 1-2 days (although with Rejuran, it might take a few more days for the bumps to completely go away). Although rare, you can have a small bruise in certain areas as the products are injected directly under your skin.
How many times should I get it?
Although some might see benefit after the first treatment, the recommended protocol for Rejuran is to have 3 sessions (every 3-4 weeks apart). Afterwards, you can consider getting it once or twice a year for maintenance of your great skin.
