Why I'm offering Vivace microneedling with RF

As the year 2021 comes near to an end, I’m excited to start offering Vivace microneedling with RF (radiofrequency) treatment. Here I would like to share the benefits of Vivace and why I decided to incorporate this particular service into my practice.

An important part of my focus in medical aesthetics is to offer preventative and rejuvenating treatments. Along the lines of getting Neurotoxin treatments (such as Botox) to prevent dynamic lines from becoming actual wrinkles, I’m interested in aesthetic treatments that can delay or prevent certain changes that come with age. It would be even better if a given aesthetic treatment can improve certain skin conditions already present (such as scarring or uneven texture) while preventing further negative changes (especially, loss of collagen). Here is where microneedling with Radiofrequency fits in.

As I was already offering PRF (platelet rich fibrin), which utilizes one’s own concentration of blood cells to rejuvenate the skin (by stimulating collagen and elastin production), coupling PRF with microneedling was a logical next step. Many people by now are aware of the benefits of microneedling, which involves making tiny punctures with needles to stimulate the skin, leading to collagen production and rejuvenation, improving the overall tone and texture of skin. Oftentimes, PRP (platelet rich plasma) or PRF are applied with the microneedling for even more skin benefits.

What about radiofrequency? Radiofrequency itself heats the deeper skin layer and improves collagen production while tightening the skin. It can be offered as a stand alone treatment, but Vivace can provider a combination of both microneedling and radiofrequency for the most skin benefit. If one is up for a blood draw, then PRF can be added for even more skin rejuvenating benefits.

As I decided on offering microneedling with radiofrequency treatment, the next step was to find the right equipment. There are several similar equipment on the market, but Vivace stood out for me because of it’s minimal pain from the specific motor technology they use and customizable system that can be tailored for each individual and treatment area. I’ve done it on myself and felt completely tolerable. Higher settings may feel like a slight prick, but for the most part, not painful at all.

When starting out, it is generally recommended to get 3 treatments in a row, spaced out every 4 to 6 weeks, for the maximum benefit. Then, patients might repeat it every 6 to 12 months to maintain healthy skin.

Looking forward to see the positive enhancement in my patient’s skin!
